Full-goatskin winter construction
Polar Baron is designed for people who want more insulation than a slim or mid-weight glove but prefer individual-finger movement over a mitten. Its full-goatskin shell, PrimaLoft Gold insulation, waterproof membrane and adjustable 7.4V heating system work together for cold-weather recreation and everyday winter use.
This is intentionally a thicker standalone glove. Expect more material around poles, handles, switches and other controls than you would feel in a lightweight glove.
Full goatskin covers both the palm and back of the hand, creating a consistent leather outer shell. Beneath it, PrimaLoft Gold insulation is distributed according to how each side of the hand is used.
The back of the hand receives the heavier insulation layer, while the palm uses a lighter amount to limit unnecessary bulk around poles, handles and equipment. The active heating system is separate from these passive insulation layers.
An internal waterproof membrane provides the main moisture barrier for snow, wet winter weather and normal outdoor exposure. The leather exterior may still become damp during prolonged contact with moisture, while the membrane helps limit water from reaching the interior.
Waterproof construction is not the same as immersion protection. Avoid soaking the gloves and keep the batteries, connectors and charging components dry.
The active heating elements cover the full back of the hand and the backs of the fingers. The palm and finger pads do not contain heating elements; warmth in those areas comes from the PrimaLoft insulation and the glove’s overall construction.
Use High for initial warm-up or colder, lower-movement periods, then reduce the setting once comfortable to manage battery use.
Estimates are based on the included 7.4V batteries. Actual runtime varies with temperature, wind, battery age, charge condition and changes between heat settings.
The pre-curved fingers follow a partially closed hand position to make the thicker construction easier to manage around ski poles, handles and outdoor equipment. Polar Baron still feels more substantial than a lightweight or slim-fit glove.
Reinforcement across the goatskin palm adds friction and wear resistance in high-contact areas. It supports general grip without turning Polar Baron into a hard-shell protective glove.
Touchscreen-compatible areas on the thumb and index finger support common actions such as answering a call or checking a map. Detailed typing and very small controls may be less precise in a heavily insulated glove.
Polar Baron works best when substantial insulation matters more than lightweight finger precision.
Polar Baron can be used for driving, but its thicker construction may reduce fine hand control. Confirm that you can operate the steering wheel, switches and other controls comfortably before driving.
It can also be used for cold-weather motorcycling, but it is not a purpose-built motorcycle glove and does not include hard-shell impact protection.
Do not use Polar Baron for track riding, professional racing or work that requires impact, cut, chemical or other task-specific protection.
