Basalt is a unisex heated motorcycle glove for cold-weather commuting and touring. Its goatskin-and-polyester shell combines 3M Thinsulate, a waterproof membrane, DWR-treated polyester and carbon-fiber structures at the knuckles and palm heel. Three 7.4V heat settings warm the back of the hand and finger backs. Dual index-finger visor wipers help clear moisture during wet-weather riding, while the extended drawcord gauntlet adds jacket-cuff coverage.

Built for Cold-Weather Road Riding
Basalt is a substantial heated motorcycle glove for winter street commuting and touring. Its adjustable 7.4V heating system works with 3M Thinsulate™ to help manage the continuous airflow riders experience at the handlebar.
The insulated construction feels fuller than a slim or uninsulated riding glove. Riders should expect additional material around levers and switches and become familiar with the glove’s feel and the motorcycle controls before setting out.
A Hybrid Shell with Leather at Contact Areas
Goatskin covers the entire palm and full index finger. It also extends across the knuckle ridge on the back of the hand and roughly half of the back surface of the other fingers. Polyester forms the remaining outer panels, making Basalt a mixed-material glove rather than a full-leather design.
This distribution places goatskin around the grip and other frequently used areas while allowing the textile sections to flex around the insulation and internal components. Basalt is available in black with carbon fiber and textured palm details.

Knuckle Area
A genuine carbon fiber shell creates a rigid outer layer over the main knuckle area.
Palm Heel
A carbon fiber shell covers the palm-heel area alongside reinforced goatskin and textured grip surfaces.
Finger Joints
Padded areas add structure around the finger joints. Basalt does not include the thumb-base reinforcement used on Vortex.

Weather Layers for Rain, Snow and Road Spray
An internal waterproof membrane provides the main barrier against normal rain, snow and road spray. DWR-treated polyester panels help surface moisture bead and shed, while a waterproof zipper closes the battery pocket in the extended cuff.
Waterproof construction is not the same as immersion protection. Avoid soaking the gloves and keep the batteries, connectors and charging components dry.

Palm Feel & Grip

Extended Drawcord Cuff
The longer gauntlet is designed to overlap a jacket sleeve and tightens with a drawcord. The battery sits inside the zippered cuff pocket, and there is no hook-and-loop wrist closure.
